Name:  Faith Bomstad, 16
Parents:  Rob and Gina Bomstad
Hometown:  Siloam Springs, Ark.
4-H Club:  Logan 4-H Club
4-H Leader:  Jackie Griffin

How did you get started in agriculture?
“I grew up on a farm, and agriculture was always there. However, one of my friends introduced me to 4-H about five years ago. The first club meeting showed me what projects I could get into. Then dad bought me my first Hereford show heifer.”

What is your current involvement in agriculture?
“I’m in FFA and 4-H, as well as, raising cattle with my family on Timber Crest Farms. For both organizations I raise and show cattle and am an officer in each. In 4-H I am the county spirit leader along with my club vice president, and in FFA I am the school parliamentarian. What I really love is just being a part of the cattle industry and knowing what I do contributes to national agriculture and the lives of everyone daily.”

Favorite agricultural memory:  “My favorite memories are a couple of wins I had last year. I won Beef Showmanship at the Benton County Fair and Reserve Division Hereford at the State Fair.”

Future Plans:  “I plan on going to college in pre-med so I can become a doctor or physical therapist. I am hoping to get either a golf or livestock judging scholarship but I haven’t decided on what school I would like to go to yet.”

Advice for younger students:  “I am mostly involved in 4-H, and I believe if you’re going to do it, do it all the way. The experiences will be something younger kids will never regret or forget. They will have tons of fun while still achieving their goals, learning about leadership and participating in community service opportunities. Next year I am planning on running for Ozark District Vice President for the State 4-H officer team.”
