Future Plans: Hunter would like to attend the University of Missouri and eventually attend veterinary school there as well. He is currently working at Bolivar Pet Hospital for Dr. W. Shawn McCracken, a small animal clinic. Hunter has job shadowed with large and small animal vets including Countryside Vet Clinic in Bolivar and Bolivar Pet Hospital.
FFA Involvement: Hunter has been involved in FFA all four years of high school. He has been on several contest teams including dairy foods, meats and job interviews. He has also been on the officer team and is currently the president of the Bolivar FFA Chapter. He is an exemplary student at school as well.
Hunter has attended National Convention his freshman and sophomore year. His junior year he attended the State Convention as a competitor in the meat competition held in Columbia, Mo.
Agriculture Involvement: When Hunter was in the third grade his parents moved to the country and started raising various types of livestock. His grandparents typically had some type of cattle around so being around livestock is nothing new to Hunter.
Now his involvement primarily revolves around rabbits, chickens, donkeys and bottle calves. He really enjoys his experiences with his rabbits. They are low maintenance and he enjoys the show experiences that he has gained with them. He has met a lot of people through the rabbits and found the rabbit community to be a widespread close knit group.
