Circle L Feed and Hardware
History: Fourteen years ago Mike Lagasse purchased an existing feed store that needed some revamping. The initial remodel was just the beginning, three years later a 6,000 square foot warehouse was added and in the last few years he purchased three other buildings on the same block. This family business includes Mike’s wife, Erica, who works on the family farm and at the store, his 19-year-old daughter, Lainie, who works when she is not attending University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Ark., 13-year-old daughter, Harleigh, who helps out in the store, and 3-year-old Sydney who will have to wait a few years to help out. In 2003 a full line of hardware was introduced to the store and in 2008 a small engine repair shop was added with partners Steve Rooney and Kevin Rooney.
Products and Services: Circle L Feed and Hardware in Quitman, Ark., offers a wide variety of hardware and plumbing supplies. They also offer a selection of lawn and garden supplies, horse tack, Fast Back ropes, fencing, animal health and pet supplies, welding supplies and outdoor power equipment such as lawnmowers. They make small engine repairs also. One other thing they do is, “Answer lots of farm related questions from lawn and garden to animal health,” said Mike Lagasse. They offer free consulting with working cattle as well.
Future Plans: The future plans for Circle L Feed and Hardware are to stay in Quitman and keep growing. “We’ve been really lucky,” said Mike. They hope the growth of their sales continue and still plan on having the best customer service possible.
