The Farmers Market of the Ozarks (FMO) will be participating in the 76th Annual Ozark Empire Fair. FMO is sponsoring the “Live Local” display located in the West Hall of the EPLEX by setting up a miniature farmers market featuring locally grown produce, unique handcrafted items, locally raised meat items and locally processed foods.

Assistant Market Manager, Ashlyn Moore is excited about this opportunity to represent the local community at the fair this year. “This will be a wonderful opportunity to teach the greater Springfield area about the high quality products grown and made right here in their backyards. We are thrilled to represent Ozark farmers and craftsman at the fair this year” Moore said.

In addition to the farmers market, FMO will host daily cooking and craft demonstrations from local chefs in a demonstration stage located inside the EPLEX. These demonstrations will use items from the local market and teach the audience how to incorporate cooking the wide variety of produce available in the Ozarks into a daily diet. Amanda Owen, owner of Homegrown Food is excited to have her business at the fair this year. “Homegrown Food is excited to be at the Ozark Empire Fair highlighting items that are commonly used and are available from local sources. We’ll have everything from rice and popcorn to jams and jellies” Owen said.

The Ozark Empire Fair runs from July 27-August 4. Farmers Market of the Ozarks will be open in the EPLEX from 12-9 every day.
