How did you get involved in agriculture?
“My uncle was an agriculture advisor at school when we moved here from Springfield, Mo. I was in the third grade at the time and that was a complete life change for me, moving from a city to the country. My uncle persuaded me to get involved and I love it. In agriculture, you just never stop learning.”

What do you like best about working in agriculture?
“Getting to work with other people, all kinds of people and working with my horse, Heidi. I used to show horses at Urbana Saddle Club and I admit I am horse crazy. My boyfriend farms and I really like helping him with the cattle so I’m learning a lot about that, too.”

What are your favorite activities in FFA?
“Public speaking contests and running for state office. I also really like floriculture, nursery, landscaping and soils work.”

Future Plans:  “I’m going on to Missouri State University in Springfield. I want to be an agriculture education teacher so I’m in this for the long haul.”
