Countryside Veterinary Clinic

Owner: Dr. Dennis Hood, DVM
Location:  Bolivar and Pleasant Hope, Mo.

History:  Dr. Dennis Hood opened Countryside Veterinary Clinic in 1974 offering small and large animal care. Dr. Bruce Hood and Dr. Franka Figari joined the clinic in 1994. In 2001, another clinic was built next door enabling each clinic to specialize in small or large animal services. Dr. Bruce Hood now owns and operates that clinic.
The clinic has always been a teaching clinic with interns from veterinary schools and students from universities working in a variety of positions.

Services:  Countryside specializes in dairy herd health, beef cattle, goats, and swine vaccination programs, foot work using their hoof trimming chute, artificial insemination, reproduction exams, OB’s breeding soundness evaluations and Trichomoniasis testing, surgeries, bovine ultrasounds. They also complete annual exams and semen checking to make sure bulls are ready for service.
They offer all types of other equine work including routine vaccinations, Coggins testing and dental services, including floating teeth.

Unique Services:  Special events are hosted throughout the year, such as Bull Days featuring bull semen testing, Trichomoniasis testing, and deworming at reduced prices. They also hold a Coggins Clinic for horses at the clinic.
A large amount of their practice is emergency services on and off site. Dr. Wooderson is available both in person and on the telephone for emergency visits and questions. He knows questions are important to their clients and may result in a life or death situation for their animals.
