History:  The DeForest family opened the first Race Brothers store in Springfield, Mo., in 1970. The Carthage, Mo., store opened in 1975 and the Monett, Mo., store opened five years ago.
Roy has been with Race Brothers since 1980. “I started working in the yard and I started the small engine repair center in 1982 – not much around here I haven’t done,” said Roy Mason, vice-president and manager of the Carthage store.

Products:  Race Brothers carries a complete line of farm and home supplies including clothing, electrical, plumbing, lawn and garden, outdoor power equipment, tools, truck accessories, pet supplies, cattle handling equipment, farm fencing and toys.  “We have all of the small parts and hardware needed on today’s farm. We haven’t forgotten what brought us to where we are today – we remember our roots,” explained Roy.

Future Plans:  “We plan to continue what we’ve been doing for the past 40 years, which is treat our customers fair and be good to the communities we serve. We have built this company based on good service, strong values and great selection,” concluded Roy.
