Name:   Callie Keaton
Age:  10
Parents:  Vance and Jennifer Keaton
Hometown:  Anderson, Mo.

How are you involved in agriculture?
“I love animals. I’ve shown my Black Angus heifer, Rita, and three other calves in six shows this past year. I also ride my horse, Toby, in showdeos around the area.”

How long have you been showing?
“I started showing bottle-calves and my pony, Patches, when I was 3 years old.”

Most recent awards:  “Rita and I won the Junior Showmanship Award at the Ozark Empire Fair this summer. And, I won the “High Point” award at the McDonald County Showdeo this year.”

What does “High Point” mean?
“High Point means I got the best average score in all five events, including barrel-racing, pole-bending, ringing the pole, Texas barrels and speed.”

What do you want to do when you grow up?
“I want to go to school at the University of Arkansas, where my mom and dad went, and take my horse with me. I might want to be a vet like my mom. I don’t know yet. But I definitely want to ride in more Showdeos.”
