How are you involved in agriculture?
“My SAE (supervised agriculture experience) project is swine production and also diversified livestock production. That includes the hogs and cows,” said Katie.

What interests you most about living on a farm?
“I like it because it’s secluded. I don’t like the big city life. It’s simpler. Farming has taught me valuable life lessons.” Katie said she would like to live on the farm later on in life and raise cattle and possibly own a greenhouse.

Why is ag important?
“I think it’s important for people to know where their food is coming from, and it’s also important that they understand all the work that goes into it.”

What are your future plans?
“I plan on going to OTC in Springfield in the fall and enrolling in their Occupational Therapy Program.”
