Richard’s Portable Welding
Owner:  Richard Rhoades

History:  Owner Richard Rhoades said, “I’ve welded since high school and I’ve always had a little shop. Each job led to another and it got bigger and bigger and before we knew it, we had more work than what we could do. That’s the way it’s been for about 10 years now. I’ve been in business since 2000 in Seymour, Mo.”

Products & Services:  “Our business is primarily pipe fencing, repair welding and metal fabrication. We do pipe fencing and corrals and a lot of equipment repair welding on farm equipment – tractors, brush hogs, etc. We can make farm calls and if equipment is broke down in the field we can go directly to it.”

Business Philosophy:  “I think the three things it takes to have any business is you have to work hard, do good work and be affordable. We just try to do a good job and be as affordable as we can and still make a living and try to be honest with people,” he said.

What do you see in the future?
“As long as cattle prices are up, people will build fence and corrals. The repair welding is good because the economy is bad. With a bad economy, people fix what they have rather than go buy something new. So between a bad economy and a good cattle market, I stay pretty busy. But most of all the Lord keeps us working.”
