Location: Broken Arrow, Okla.
Owners: Kevin Hagan and Terry Hagan
History: Evert Hagan founded Hagan Tractors in 1983. Today, his sons, Kevin and Terry Hagan, are the second generation to run the business, which started almost by accident.
“We traded for a couple of tractors that were broke; we took two and made one. Then we had extra parts so we started selling parts,” Kevin said. “We’ve been doing it ever since.”
Products and Services: Hagan Tractor Parts specializes in construction equipment.
“A lot of the farmers have Bobcats, skid loaders and things like that,” Kevin said. “I do a few ag tractors along the way, but not as much as I do the construction equipment. A lot of farms have a small dozer to push out trees. We don’t do heavy equipment.”
Kevin said the crew of Hagan Tractors dismantle the equipment and are able to salvage 99 percent of the parts. The parts catalog for Hagan Tractor Parts is expansive and is meticulously cataloged and listed online.
“We separate the parts out, put them on our website and ship them out,” he said, adding that they primarily ship throughout North America, but have shipped to Australia. Hagan Tractor Parts typically ship out eight to 10 orders a day.
“That doesn’t count walk-ins and bigger components. We move enough parts that it keeps seven employs busy,” Kevin said.
In addition to parts, Hagan Tractor also rebuilds motors, primarily from CAT, Case, John Deere and Cummings. From time to time, they also refurbish machines.
“A machine that only needs three or four parts is back in service,” Kevin said of the refurbishing.
Future Plans: While fixing things is part of the Hagan Tractor mission, they have taken an, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach to their business.
“We stay busy and we enjoy what we do,” Keith said. “We’re happy doing what we’re doing. We’re going to keep doing exactly what we’re doing.”
