Several students and faculty from the Industrial Engineering and Management Department at Oklahoma State University received awards at the Annual IIE Conference in Montreal, which also hosts the largest industrial and systems engineering event of the year.
Dr. David Pratt received the Innovations in Curriculum award, which goes to an individual who makes an outstanding innovation in the design or presentation of an accredited engineering curriculum.
Dr. Satish Bukkapatnam received the Technical Innovation in Industrial Engineering award, which recognizes an innovative technical contribution to the industrial engineering profession
Erin Lee, a senior from Bartlesville, Okla., was one of nine finalists in the National Student Paper Competition sponsored by John Deere. Lee made it to the finals after finishing first in the South-central Region Student Paper Competition for her senior design project.
Emily Greer and Zachary Kelch received the James W. Barany Student Award of Excellence, which goes to students who are distinguished through scholarly excellence and campus leadership. Greer, from Tulsa, is a recent graduate and Kelch is a senior from Oklahoma City.
Ian Giese, a recent graduate from Bloomington, Minn., received the Process Industries Division’s Best Student Paper Award.
Diana Rodriguez, a doctoral student from Colombia, received the John L. Imhoff Scholarship worth $2,000. The scholarship goes to a student who has made international contributions to industrial engineering.
