Ludwig to head state 4-H council

COLUMBIA, Mo. – A Jefferson City youth was elected president of the Missouri 4-H State Council at the 69th annual State 4-H Congress on the campus of the University of Missouri at Columbia.

Trent Ludwig, a 10-year 4-H member, succeeds Jared Day as president. Ludwig helped organize the 30-member Jefferson City 4-H Club in Cole County.

His projects include showing beef cattle, and he has won the state 4-H speaking contest in every division. He has served on the State 4-H Council, and attended State 4-H Legislative Academy and National 4-H Congress. He plans to study business or economics in college.

Marcie Eggers of Tina is the new vice president. She is a sophomore at North Central Missouri College and is a 4-H member in Livingston County.

Mikayla Engeman is the new treasurer. She is a freshman at Northwest Missouri State University. An 11-year member of the Montrose Busy Beavers in Henry County, she held every office and served as a regional representative.

Cooper Sadowsky of Eagleville was elected secretary. A 10-year member of the Pawnee Peppers 4-H Club in Harrison County, she was president of her class and FFA chapter. She also shows registered Angus cattle.

State representatives are Missouri 4-H Foundation trustee Bridget Schumer of Cape Girardeau County; state extension council liaison Nathan Smith of Franklin County; Kids Helping Kids coordinator Jennifer Durbin of Marion County; and county youth liaison coordinator Nick Dungy of Livingston County.
