Hometown: Collinsville, Okla.
Current Involvement in Agriculture: Michaela shows Limousin and Maine Anjou heifers. Michaela competes in livestock judging, cattle grading and showing calves. Michaela states ag is her big thing and she is involved in Circle G 4-H Club and Young Stockmans.
Awards: Michaela has received the Top 10 Showmanship award, Top five in Cattle Grading and Breed Champion many times. Michaela’s advisors in the various activities, she belongs to are: Jerri Guilfoyle, Circle G 4-H of Collinsville, Okla., Sandy Phelps, Young Stockmans of Collinsville, Okla., and Lynne Gowler, Collinsville Student Council.
Future Plans: Michaela recently graduated from high school. Her future plans are to go to college at Northeastern State A&M then to Oklahoma State focusing on animal science. Her goal is to be a veterinarian.
Advice for Younger Students: “You need to have a lot of patience,” said Michaela. “Work is not done on show day, but it is accomplished with working beforehand. Animals eat first, and then you do. Animals come first after you, which might mean you don’t go out with your friends or don’t get that much sleep because you are checking on an expecting cow.”
