Hollywood writer-director Sandy Tung to join FilmFest 4-H

BRANSON, Mo. –FilmFest 4-H organizers announced Tuesday, May 8, that Los Angeles-based writer and director Sandy Tung will be joining the 2012 festival, leading workshops on writing and directing for the big screen.

Tung’s directing credits include such family films as “Saving Shiloh,” “Shiloh 2: Shiloh Season” and “Soccer Dog: European Cup.” He both wrote and directed “Alice Upside Down” and “Across the Tracks,” a 1991 drama that featured a then little-known actor named Brad Pitt.

The national youth film festival, Aug. 5-8 in Branson, Mo., is open to 4-H youth ages 11-18 as well as groups from other youth-serving organizations. FilmFest 4-H highlights will include activities, networking opportunities and workshops with film industry professionals like Tung. Youth may submit films in the Narrative, Documentary, Animation and 4-H Promotional categories through July 13. Information and forms are available at 4h.missouri.edu/filmfest.
