Name: Aubrie Winebrinner
Parents: Dave and Angie Shue
High School: Willard High School
FFA Advisors: Dana Kimmons and Sean Edwards
FFA Involvement: Willard High School, Greene County freshman Aubrie Winebrinner is actively involved in her school’s FFA chapter. She is a member of the FFA archery team, and also participates in the contest teams, specifically horse judging. Her contest team made it to the district competition for the 2011-2012 school year. Aubrie and the other members of the Willard FFA chapter are also involved with PALS, where the high school students visit local elementary schools to educate younger students about the FFA program.
Equine Involvement: Aubrie has been involved with 4-H horse showing for the past several years. “I rode with the Stars and Steeds drill team,” she said, “and I do barrel racing with the MFRA (Missouri Family Rodeo Association).” She also helps out at a local riding stable, mucking stalls, grooming and feeding the horses and assisting with riding lessons. She enjoys each and every equine experience and said that her favorite moment in her equine career thus far was winning Reserve High Point in judged classes at her first Greene County 4-H horse show. Aubrie strongly encourages the people she meets to take up horsemanship and equine activities. Some of the best ways to get them involved, she said, are to, “inform them about it and educate the younger kids.”
Future plans: Aubrie hopes to work towards a career that will help her contribute as much as possible to the future of agriculture. She would like to become a veterinarian or an ag teacher. In the more immediate future, she plans to spend the summer riding and rodeoing with her friends – equine and otherwise.
