SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Greene County 4-H Fair is June 8 – 9 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds and it showcases the finest 4-H projects in Greene County this year.
On Friday, June 8, horse demonstrations get underway at 9:30 a.m. in Wells Arena and the Main Arena. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. will be the livestock judging contest open to all Greene County 4-H members in good standing.
The livestock shows in dairy, beef, sheep, rabbits, swine, meat and dairy goats, poultry and cats begin at 3 p.m. with live animal demonstrations in the Swine Arena from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. The swine show begins in the same arena at 6 p.m. The beef and sheep show begins at 6 p.m. in Boyd Arena.
Handmade exhibits will be on display in the 4-H Building from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
On Saturday, June 9, the handmade exhibits will be on display in the 4-H building from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The poultry show begins at 8 a.m. in the Swine Barn followed by the dairy and meat goat show at 9 a.m. The dairy cattle show also begins at 9 a.m. in Boyd Arena. The horse show begins at 10 a.m. in the main arena.
The awards ceremony for the 4-H Fair begins at noon in the Swine Arena.
An offshoot of the 4-H fair, the Greene County 4-H Dog Show, starts at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, at Springfield Dog Training Club Facility, 454N. Farm Road 223, Springfield. There will be demonstrations starting at 1 p.m. in several categories including Clover Kids, trick class, showmanship, rally, agility, obedience and costume.
