South Central Cattlemen’s Association Meeting
The South Central Cattlemen’s Association will hold its next meeting on Thursday, February 23rd beginning at 7:00 P.M. at Larson Farm and Lawn in West Plains.
Dave Smith, Missouri Department of Agriculture, USDA Livestock Market News will be the featured speaker. Dave has been reporting livestock news for 38 years. He won the National Livestock Grader of the year in 1981 at the event held in Greenly, Colorado. Greg Onstott with the Missouri Department of Agriculture who oversees the Marketing News Program for the state will also be in attendance. Topics will include the impact of the cattle industry on the trade area of West Plains and surrounding counties, how to interpret market reports, and other factors which influence prices. This is a great opportunity for area cattlemen to ask questions about their industry.
Refreshments will be provided compliments of Larson Farm and Lawn.
South Central Cattlemen’s Association was organized in 2009 serving cattle producers in Howell, Ozark, Oregon and Shannon counties. The purpose of the Association is to advance economic, educational, political and social interests of the Missouri Cattle Industry.
