Name: Brittany Stallcup

Parents: Mark and Bonnie Stallcup
How are you involved in agriculture?
“I have diversified livestock which includes 10 head of crossbred beef cattle, a horse, chickens, rabbits and a market hog for the county fair each year. I show everything but the horse and she is just for my own enjoyment. The best showing I had was Grand Champion Crossbred Heifer in the beef division and Reserve Champion Market Hog in the swine division. I have placed in the poultry division on different occasions.”
Other accomplishments in FFA include Star Greenhand freshman year, Star Chapter Farmer sophomore year, and this year Brittany will receive the State Farmer Degree at the Missouri State FFA Convention this year.
Why do you think it is important for kids to be involved in agriculture?
“I am an old-fashioned down home person, and if you are in agriculture it makes you a more well-rounded individual. Besides, it is lots of fun.”
What are your future plans?
“Attending the College of the Ozarks and eventually owning a large cattle operation and a retired race horse farm.”
Do you have a role model?
“My hero is Lane Frost who is the youngest bull rider in the Hall of Fame.”
What is your best memory at the farm?
“I don’t have a best memory of the farm, but spring is my favorite time of year. I like all the newborns and just the new life of spring – the birth of a season.”
What is the most important thing you have learned through agriculture?
“God has truly made everything and he can take it away. You have to go with what you have and make the most of it.”
