Location: Huntsville, Ark.

Owners: Sam and Maggie Davidson

Manager: Joe Fancher

History: Sam and Maggie Davidson took over Cleaver Farm & Home in Huntsville, Ark., in January 2022. The name of the store was changed to Hometown Farm and Feed, but the mission to provide needed products and services to customers has remained the same since the business opened in 1987.

Products and Services: Hometown Farm and Feed strives to be a one-stop shop for its customers.

“We carry Purina feeds, Big V, and Quality Feed out of Harrison,” manager Joe Fancher explained. “We have feed for all livestock species. And for dogs, we carry Diamond, Valu-Pak and Hi-Point.”

Customers can also find mineral from Ragland Mills, RangeLand mineral by Purina and equine supplements.

“We also try to carry a full line of cattle vaccines, dog and cat vaccines,” Joe said. “We also have a full line of other vet supplies.”

Some of the many items at Hometown Farm and Feed include: fly sprays, wood shavings, garden supplies, hats, gloves, knives, barbed wire, posts, wire cattle panels and propane.

“If we don’t have it, we can order it,” Joe said. “We keep a little of everything.”

For the outdoor enthusiast, Hometown Farm and Feed offers wildlife attractants and feeds.

“We also carry the Muddy deer blinds,” Joe said.

Hometown Farm and Feed is a STIHL Power Equipment dealer and offers clothing for the whole family, including Key brand bibs. Additionally, jewelry, boots and shoes by Twisted X, home décor, and gift items can be found.

The store is also a must-stop for little farmers and ranchers.

“We have Big Country Toys and children’s books,” Joe said. “Our owner (Maggie) is a former teacher, and reading is very important to her. We also have stuffed animals that have a matching book. I think there is a horse, and a couple of books go with that horse, so the child can get a stuffed animal and books about that animal.”

Old fashioned sodas from Frostop are also a favorite of customers of all ages.

Business Philosophy: “No matter how big or small, we try to be accommodating and treat people the way we want to be treated,” Joe said.
