What is your involvement in agriculture? “I live on my family’s farm located in Beggs, Okla. I am a fifth-generation farmer and rancher. I am extremely blessed that both of my parents come from strong agricultural backgrounds that stem from long lines of generational agriculturists on both sides of my family. My family operates a cow calf operation as well as a seedstock program. We have around 100 head of registered and commercial cows. Our herd consists of Registered SimAngus, Charolais, Red Angus, as well as Commercials. I am extremely proud to say we raise and show our own cattle. My family also has a custom hay business that sells square bales of Bermuda and prairie hay. I have grown up participating in 4-H and FFA activities. I am going into my senior year of high school and am currently the President of the Beggs FFA Chapter. I really enjoy competing on various judging teams and in public speaking contests as well as attending leadership events.”

What is your favorite part of being involved in agriculture/living on a farm? “I am so blessed to have grown up in this industry. Being raised on a farm has taught me many life lessons that will prepare me for my future. My favorite part has to be that I get to work alongside my family every day on our farm. I also enjoy all of the connections that the agriculture industry provides me with.”

What are your future plans? “I plan to attend Oklahoma State University and double major in political science and agriculture business. My goal is to become an agriculture lobbyist so that I can advocate for farmers and ranchers rights at the state capitol.”
