WARRENSBURG, Mo. – University of Missouri Extension in Johnson County will hold percolation test certification training Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11-12. This course is for individuals who want to obtain certification to conduct soil percolation tests for determining soil absorption qualities of sites being considered for installation of an on-site sewage system.
Instructors for the two-day event will be David Lindell, retired MU Extension agronomy specialist, and John Tharp, retired MU Extension water quality/community development specialist.
The cost of the two-day course is $160 per person. For certification, participants who complete the course will also need to provide a payment of $90 to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) in addition to the $160 course fee to MU Extension in Johnson County.
Registration is limited to 25 participants and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The $160 registration fee must be received by Tuesday, Dec. 1.
At the end of the training, instructors will give an exam that will be graded by DHSS, which will mail certification cards to those successfully completing the exam.
