D&D Welding & Fabrication, Inc.
Owners: Dennis, Patty and Rusty Dukes
Location: Near Pleasant Hope, Mo.
History: “I worked in Springfield for 22 years as a supervisor in a fabrication shop and decided to go on my own,” said Dennis Dukes. “We started D&D Welding and Fabrication in 1995, just my wife and I and our son Rusty. We started out doing maintenance on farm equipment and expanded into building parts for sewer plants. Currently, we have four employees and we can do a wide variety of stuff; we are not limited to anything. The only thing we do not make is medical equipment.”
Products and Services:
“Basically anybody that brings in an idea or print we can make it,” said Patty Dukes. Son Rusty Dukes does 90 percent of the design and planning of projects for customers.
“We have a water jet and high definition plasma torch system that is used to cut precision type parts,” said Dennis. “We make a lot of specialty parts for farm equipment, automobiles, race cars, and fire trucks. We just finished building scraper teeth for a disk,” remarked Dennis. “We have made several field rollers for farmers,” added Patty.
“We make reproduction parts for antique tractors – mostly John Deere. Other custom work includes making tool boxes for flat bed pickups, building grain bins, specialty signs, ladders, platforms. We built a large custom platform that went to the World Trade Center in New York City not too long ago,” remarked Dennis.
“On the farm equipment side; we make and repair a great deal of round bailer doors. We also repair brush hogs, round bale lifts, three-point lifts, manure spreaders, feed bins, feeders, augers, trailers and turkey barn equipment, just to name a few,” said Dennis.
