While Oklahoma State University’s historic Atherton Hotel is closed for a large scale renovation until next fall, the hotel’s celebrated restaurant, The Ranchers Club, continues to provide fine dining for the OSU campus and Stillwater community.
“Visitors will notice a new entrance to The Ranchers Club on the southwest side of the Student Union, located just past the fountain in the Price Family Garden,” said Josh Barnard, hotel and restaurant manager. “Otherwise, they’ll find the same relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and great food they’ve come to expect through the years.”
The Ranchers Club serves lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner Tuesday through Saturday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with extended hours on home football game days. Outdoor dining on the patio is available.
The Atherton Hotel closed on May 17 for extensive upgrades, including the replacement of plumbing and electrical wires. Walls and hallways will be modified for an expansive new room layout that will increase the size of many of the guest rooms and bathrooms, offering the latest in comfortable features and amenities, while the architecture and décor continue to reflect OSU’s signature Georgian style.
A 30-foot tower addition, on the southeast corner of the hotel, will feature a spacious new elevator, additional stairs and a relocated main entrance with drive-up access, providing greater convenience for hotel guests. The lobby and front desk will also move to the south tower addition, while the current lobby will be transformed into a lounge to be operated by The Ranchers Club. The restaurant’s always popular outdoor patio will be extended to provide more garden-side seating.
