National Association for Foreign Student Affairs to honor Regina Henry
Regina Henry, coordinator of immigration for International Students and Scholars Services at Oklahoma State University, has been selected for an award of excellence as an outstanding leader in immigration procedures by the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs.
The NAFSA Knowledge Community for International Student and Scholar Services Award of Excellence honors a NAFSA member who has demonstrated outstanding qualities that distinguish him or her as a leader in the field of international student and scholar services. Nominees must possess the qualities of compassion, integrity and leadership with at least 10 years of professional experience in international student and scholar services as well as 10 years of NAFSA membership.
Adria Baker, executive director, Rice University Office of International Students and Scholars, nominated Henry for the award which will be presented on May 27 at the NAFSA annual conference in San Diego.
Baker said it is rare to find someone who is as willing as Henry to be in the background and do all of the hard work. “Adria is an extremely valuable international educator, who is respected and admired greatly by her colleagues. She is also a complete joy to work with, and an inspiration as a professional who is dedicated, kind, helpful, humble, persistent and positive.”
