Enjoy a night of Filipino food while supporting a great cause at the Philippines Typhoon Relief Banquet on Friday, April 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Wes Watkins Center, room 209.
All of the proceeds will support the rebuilding efforts of the victims of Typhoon Haiyan through Gawad Kalinga, a Philippine based movement fighting poverty.
Typhoon Haiyan was a powerful typhoon that devastated the Philippines in November 2013, resulting in 6,000 deaths and destroying more than one million homes.
The banquet will showcase traditional Filipino food, including adoba, pancit, fried chicken and fresh vegetable lumpia.
Sigma Iota Rho and the Student Association of Global Affairs are sponsoring the event. Tickets to the event are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.
