History: In 1993 Harrell and Toni Thompson began their business, Small Engine Power, in a small building and offered small engine repair services. Later on, they enlarged their business by adding the sales and service of top of the line garden equipment, tractors, utility vehicles and commercial mowers. Serving the community was the main goal for the Thompsons and that is what they have done for almost 20 years. The most recent change is the name; it is now Discount Farm & Lawn. Harrell said it encompasses more of what they offer.
Products and Service: Today they have expanded into a much larger building, next door to the original one, and have two lots with LS tractors, garden equipment, ATV’s and mowers. Inside there are all types of farm supplies, including plumbing and electrical supplies. There are chainsaws and trimmers, feed for large and small farm animals, pet feed, veterinary supplies and a host of small items that are needed for everyday life on the farm.
The repair business is still available and the store is stocked with lots of parts for all types of repairs for equipment. Another service includes the rental of backhoes, tractors and just about any other equipment. Harrell said, “We do what is needed for our customers.”
