Travis Pratt
Family: Travis Pratt has two daughters; Ashton, 18, a student at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, and Alyssa, 14, a freshman at McDonald Country High School. Along with his parents, J.R. and Janice Prutt, Travis owns and operates Pratt Family Enterprises.
In town: “Anderson, Mo., is a great place to live and raise a family. I moved away and always knew I would come home someday. Our business, “The Feed Store and More,” is located in Anderson just a block off Main Street and is a family owned business.
In the Country: “Our 50-acre farm is located west of Anderson. My father, J.R Pratt, has had his hand in some type of farming since I was a young child. My first farming experience as a young child was being raised on a caged layer poultry operation. Today we have 25 cross bred Angus cows and a registered Black Angus bull. I also raise and show Registered Quarter Horses. Normally we AI all our mares to top stallions in the reining horse industry to improve our already strong genetics. Our mares are daughters of Smart Like Juice and Smart Starbuck, and both mares are money and point earners in the NRHA/AQHA,” added Travis.
The Future: “I want to continue to grow both in my country and town lives. We hope to expand our cattle operation with the purchase of more land. I also have high hopes of someday winning in the reining futurities and/or the reined cow/horse events. Our 4-year-old gelding “Self Shining Juice” has points and earnings both in the AQHA and the NRHA. As a father of two daughters I look forward to the day they begin their own lives outside of the home, get married and having children of their own. Nothing would make me happier than to see one of my grandchildren run this business someday,” concluded Travis.
