Jackson, how are you involved in agriculture?
“I show our rabbits, hogs and cattle at local fairs and livestock shows. Hogs are my favorite animals to show because they’re harder to control. I also work part-time on a dairy farm, helping with milking and any other chores that need done.”
Preston, how are you involved in agriculture?
“I also show our rabbits, hogs and cattle, but rabbits are my favorite animals to show. The rabbits are placed three at a time into meat pens for the judges to examine. We’ve had several Grand Champions, which are chosen based on the highest percentage of meat yield per total weight of the rabbit. “
What are your other accomplishments?
“I participated for the first time in the public-speaking competition with the East Newton 4-H Club, and was chosen to go to the state competition in Columbia. I didn’t win, but it was fun.”
