Alan Sanderson
In Town: Morton Buildings has been keeping Alan Sanderson busy since April of 2010. Dick Conway opened the Monett office 38 years ago. Dick manages the Oklahoma and Kansas area while Alan takes care of Springfield and the lake areas. Most of their 12-crew members have been with them for 20 years. Alan explained that they do a lot of commercial buildings, like churches, fire stations and restaurants. “The quality is top rated,” Alan said. “They are premier buildings. We have our own crews, manufacturing plants, engineering and arch staff.” From start to finish, all of a project is contained in one package.
What’s Hot: “Cabin style homes with a garage on one end. A lot of these garage/apartment combinations are going up, especially in the lake area. Morton’s business stayed strong even during the downturn in general construction. They just put the third crew to work,” explained Alan.
Family: Alan has been married to his wife Deb for 34 years. They have three girls and two grandsons.
On the Farm: The Sanderson’s have eight Quarter Horses. They are for pleasure and trail rides. Alan had an Angus herd that he sold about a year ago. “If you don’t have time to take care of them, you have to sell them,” he said. “I sold them at the all time low, now they are at the all time high.”
