How many animals do you have?
“We have about 260 head of cows, plus replacement heifers, three Quarter Horses, five dogs, one cat and two turkey houses. I help take care of them all, my family has been farming here since 1918,” said Emily. “I also help during hay season by driving the tractors, and I feed and groom the horses. I love the farm and everything about it.”
Who is your role model?
“Alicia Henderson, she moved here 2 years ago and she is the 4-H agent for the county. She has inspired and helped a lot of kids here in Conway County. Anything we need help with she is there for us, I would like to be like her,” said Emily.
What are your plans for the future?
“I am taking animal science at Arkansas Tech, then on to University of Arkansas for 2 years, and another 4 years in vet school. I would like to be a large animal vet.”
