Company History: Zac Kelly, an owner, said, “This is the second year that we’ve been in business here. Basically, my dad came up with the idea that he wanted to try to build (an outdoor wood furnace.) He went and bought the tools and started out here with a couple of guys. We’ve just constantly been expanding from there. It was Dad’s original plan. It was his design and he drew on it all winter long and then we started building, so it’s been just a combination of a lot of guys’ ideas and a lot of hard work. We build from scratch. We manufacture here locally. Right here around Norwood we actually have guys who make all the parts except two that we have to get offsite. Everything else we bring in raw material right here. We have dealers throughout the United States. We have sold into 23 states so far.”
Products and Services: “We manufacture and sell outdoor wood furnaces. They are hot water furnaces. It heats the water and sends the water to your house. It heats your house and you can heat your hot water with it, as well. With one unit you can heat a shop and a house or a greenhouse or a pool or hot tub off the same unit. That’s what our basic product is. We offer metal artwork, signs and things of that nature, as well. But our primary business is the outdoor wood furnaces. Our furnaces have a one-half inch thick fire box. We believe that due to the fact that ours is the heaviest fire box in the industry, it’s going to hold up the longest. We tried to take all the gadgets that are on a lot of wood stoves off of them and just make them as simple as possible. We have a 25-year unlimited warranty, and we stand behind our product.”
Business Philosophy: “Our business philosophy is ‘make it right, no matter what’. We try to just make the best product we can. It isn’t any one-man show. We currently have a crew of 16 employees. It’s our employees as much as it’s us.”
