Company History: “We’ve been here 16 years with the hardware store. The cabinet shop’s been here 21 years. We’ve had feed for about 11 or 12 years.”
Products and Services: “We’re a full-line hardware store. We also have Tindle Feed and vet supplies, and we have lawn and garden type items, chain saws, weed eaters, some lawn mowers and a full line of hardware: Paint, some flooring, plumbing and electrical, carpet and vinyl and the various tools and accessories that go along with it. If you want to build a house we can pretty much provide everything that goes into it and we’ve got a custom cabinet shop that is in the back. We build them from scratch. We also have gates, t-posts, barbed wire and some lumber. We also have guns and ammunition, and we’re building a lumber shed right now where we can hold more lumber.
Best advice for building a barn at the farm?
“The first thing is they’d need to know how big they’re wanting to build. I’d ask them if they had an idea on size, or what they’re using it for, so we can help determine the size. I used to be a building inspector so I know a little about building and plumbing and wiring, all that stuff. As for site location, I’m sure it would need to be level, so they’d need to have a bulldozer come in and level the pad out.”
What’s in the future?
“We just keep expanding, little by little. If you’re not growing, you’re dying.”
How do you stay ahead of the competition?
“Service is our biggest thing. We’re pretty competitive price-wise, but we do give good service. When people come in the door we try to greet them, and help them figure out what they need.”
