How have you been involved in FFA?
“I’ve been on two contest teams. I was on the Knowledge team my freshman year, and on the Agronomy team last year. My freshman year, as a team we placed third at state. I got fourth individually. My Sophomore year, as a team we placed second, and I got fifth individually.” Chris Garton is an FFA officer for the coming year and will serve as Chaplain in the coming schoolyear.
What competition do you hope to take part in this next school season?
“Poultry. The advisor thinks we’d do good as a poultry team. It will either be poultry, or livestock judging.”
What has FFA done for you?
“It has helped me broaden my leadership abilities. I’ve also learned things that I’ll be able to use in a future position, or job.”
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
“My father. He’s taught me just about everything I know about agriculture.”
What do you like best about living on a farm?
“Being away from the city. We’ve never lived in town.” (and he doesn’t think he would like it.)
