History of the Business: "My dad Wayne Schnelle and my brother-in-law Erwin Hedeman started the business in 1969. That's where the name S&H came from. They started it from home, selling things to neighbors out of our house. Then it just grew and developed from there," said Eric. S&H Farm Supply in Joplin opened for business March 14, 2008.
Services offered by S&H: "We try to cater to all aspects of agriculture. We offer equipment, supplies and services to full-time farmers, commercial farmers, residential homes and anyone else who needs our products. We've really grown in the lawn and garden aspects the past few years," Eric added. The business also makes farm calls, to service equipment and supplies they've sold.
Product lines offered: New Holland tractors and haying equipment – also Cub Cadet, Bush Hog haying equipment, Bad Boy mowers, Stihl products and more.
Mission of the business: The mission of S&H Farm Supply is to stock a wide variety of equipment, to sell it at a reasonable price and then to offer superior parts and services as support for all the equipment they sell. They want to support farmers all the way through. S&H, owned by farmers, continues to understand the needs of farmers in today's society and economy.
Plans for the future: The goal in Joplin is to further expand the customer base, while continuing to provide excellent service. "We have customers in Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas as well as our Missouri friends, and here at Joplin we'd like to expand into the residential and commercial markets. We're always looking to expand into new lines of equipment that can save fuel, for example. We just want to meet the needs of the customers," stated Eric.
